Wellness Blood Testing FAQs
Blood Testing
Some blood tests require fasting, while others do not. If fasting is required, we'll let you know when you book your appointment. Unless advised otherwise, you should continue to drink water to stay well hydrated before your appointment.
In most cases, yes. Continue taking your prescribed medication unless you've been advised otherwise by your doctor or by us before your appointment. If you're unsure, please contact us for advice.
Some supplements, particularly biotin (Vitamin B7), can affect certain blood test results. If you regularly take vitamins or supplements, please let us know before your appointment so we can advise you if any should be temporarily stopped.
Your appointment begins with a brief consultation to confirm your details and ensure you're appropriately prepared for your blood test. A blood sample is then taken by an experienced Registered Nurse using venepuncture in a comfortable clinical environment. Most appointments take approximately 20 minutes.
All blood samples are analysed by Randox Health, a UK-accredited medical laboratory with a reputation for high-quality diagnostic testing.
Most blood test results are available within a few working days, although some specialist tests may take longer. We'll advise you of the expected turnaround time when your sample is taken.
Yes. Following receipt of your laboratory report, you'll be offered a follow-up consultation with an experienced Registered Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber. During this appointment, we'll explain your results, discuss any findings within the context of your medical history and presenting concerns, and provide appropriate evidence-based advice. Where further medical assessment or investigation is recommended, we can advise on the next steps, including sharing your results with your NHS GP or, where appropriate, referral through our independent private GP pathway.

Yes. Following your results consultation, we'll advise if sharing your laboratory report with your NHS GP would be beneficial. Your report includes a dedicated section for your GP, which you can provide directly to support any recommended follow-up or ongoing care. The decision to share your results remains entirely yours.
Abnormal results do not always indicate a serious medical condition. During your follow-up consultation, we'll explain your laboratory report, discuss the findings in the context of your health assessment and presenting concerns, and provide appropriate evidence-based advice within our professional scope of practice. Where appropriate, we'll recommend the next steps, which may include lifestyle advice, repeat testing, discussing the results with your NHS GP, or referral through our independent private GP pathway for further medical assessment.
Yes. Where clinically appropriate, we can facilitate referral to an independent private GP service for further medical assessment. This provides timely access to medical advice if additional investigation or treatment is recommended following your blood test results.
No. Our blood testing service is currently available for adults.
Yes. If you're unsure which blood test is most appropriate, we recommend booking a consultation. We'll discuss your medical history, current symptoms or health concerns, and your health goals to help determine the most appropriate laboratory tests based on your individual needs.
